Sara: Yes. I enjoyed it, but I have a question. [A]
Rie: Of course. In my school, we always eat school lunch here. [B]
Sara: Because I don't eat lunch in my classroom. In America, many students eat lunch in the school cafeteria.

[A]
ア Do you really think it is new?
Do you often want to go to America?
Do you sometimes have class after lunch?
Do you always eat lunch in your classroom?

Do you always eat lunch in your classroom?(いつも教室で昼食をとるのですか。)

[B]
ア Why do you ask such a question?
Why did you eat lunch in your classroom?
Why do you eat everything?
Why did you ask me about America?

Why do you ask such a question?(どうしてそのような質問をするの。)

Sara: Now I want to go to the school library. Will you come with me?
Rie: Sorry, Sara. [C] We are going to clean our classroom.

[C]
ア We should go to the library.
We can't eat school lunch tomorrow.
We should go to school every day.
We can't go there now.

Sara: … It was a good experience for me.
Mr. Mori: [D] Cleaning the classroom is very important.
Rie: I think so, too. It is also important for us to work together because _____(2)_____

[D]
ア That's too bad.(それは残念。)
イ Don't worry about it.(気にしないで。)
I'm glad to hear that.(それを聞いて嬉しいわ。)
エ Take care of yourself.(お大事に。)

Hi, Kate.

I was happy to (ア) an e-mail from you.
Today, I want to tell you about our school events. We have many school events, *such as *a chorus contest, a school festival, and a school trip.
Last week, we had a chorus contest. Every class practiced [A] for the contest.
The chorus contest is (イ) in our town. Every year, many people in our town come to see our contest and enjoy it. This year, about 200 people came to our contest. It was [A] for us to sing well *in front of many people, but we did our best. At the (ウ) of the contest, all the students sang our school song together. It was wonderful. Does your school have a chorus contest (エ) ours?

(注)
such as ~ ~のような
in front of ~ ~の前で

〔begin   end   famous   interested   like   receive   same   write〕

I was happy to (ア) an e-mail from you.

I was happy to receive an e-mail from you.

be happy to do

be happy to do

・be happy to do: ~してうれしい
・be glad to do: ~してうれしい
・be sad to do: ~して悲しい
・be sorry to do: ~して残念だ
・be surprised to do: ~して驚いている

The chorus contest is (イ) in our town.
Every year, many people in our town come to see our contest and enjoy it.

is は be動詞です。

The chorus contest is interested in our town.

The chorus contest is famous in our town.

..., but we did our best. At the (ウ) of the contest, all the students sang our school song together.

≪重要≫ the → 名詞 ← of the contest

・the same: 同じ人(物)
・the like: 似た人(物)

we did our best(私たちはベストを尽くした)とありますから,コンクールは終盤であると考えられます。

正解:At the end of the contest(コンクールの最後に)

Does your school have a chorus contest (エ) ours?

we, our, us, ours の ours です。

our cat (私たちの猫) = ours (私たちのもの)
our car (和たちの車) = ours (私たちのもの)
our book (私たちの本) = ours (私たちのもの)

Does your school have a chorus contest (エ) ours?

A like B (BのようなA)

正解:Does your school have a chorus contest like ours?

1) He likes his father.
⇒ 文型:S like O(S は Oが好き)
2) He is like his father.
S be like O(S は Oに似ている)

[A]
Every class practiced [A] for the contest.
It was [A] for us to sing well in front of many people, but we did our best.

Every class practiced [A] for the contest.

It was [A] for us to sing well in front of many people, but we did our best.

It is hard for (人) to do: (人)にとって~することが難しい
≒ It is difficult for (人) to do

(ア)receive  (イ)famous  (ウ)end  (エ)like
[A] hard

Does your school have a chorus contest like ours?
